I find it very meaningful and would therefore like to share with you: “In the preface of the extensively studied and often cited classic Qian Jin Yao Fang (Essential Formulas Worth a Thousand Pieces of Gold), Sun Simiao (a Tang dynasty physician) describes the preparations required for anybody who wants to study medicine: First, you must familiarize yourself with the Su Wen (Plain Questions), Jia Yi Jing (A–Z Classic of Acupuncture and Moxibustion), and Huang Di Nei Jing (Inner Classic of the Yellow Emperor) (three classic texts of Chinese medicine), the 12 channels, the Chinese pulse locations, the five viscera and six bowels (the internal “organs” of Chinese medicine), the inside, the outside, the points, the medicinals, and the classic formulas.
